Ingredients:

To make bibimbap, you'll need the following ingredients:
  • Rice: Short-grain white rice is typically used in bibimbap. You'll need about 1 cup of uncooked rice to make enough for 4 servings.
  • Vegetables: Bibimbap is typically made with a variety of vegetables, including spinach, carrots, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and zucchini. You can use whatever vegetables you like, but it's a good idea to choose a mix of different colors and textures for the best flavor and presentation.
  • Protein: Bibimbap can be made with a variety of proteins, including beef, chicken, pork, or tofu. You'll need about 1/2 pound of protein for 4 servings.
  • Gochujang sauce: This is a spicy red pepper paste that is used to flavor the bibimbap. You can find it at most Asian grocery stores.
  • Soy sauce: You'll need about 1 tablespoon of soy sauce for the bibimbap.
  • Sesame oil: You'll need about 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for the bibimbap.
  • Eggs: One egg per serving of bibimbap.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Cook the rice. Rinse 1 cup of short-grain white rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rice and 1 1/2 cups of water to a pot and bring to a boil. 

When the rice is ready, turn the heat down to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

Prepare the vegetables. Wash and prepare the vegetables by slicing them into thin strips. 

Blanch the spinach and bean sprouts by dipping them in boiling water for a few seconds, then rinse with cold water and squeeze out the excess water. Sauté the carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini in a little oil until tender, then set aside.

Cook the protein. Cook the beef, chicken, or pork in a little oil until browned and cooked through. If using tofu, slice it into thin strips and sauté until browned. Set the protein aside.

Fry the eggs. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry one egg per serving of bibimbap, making sure the yolk stays runny.

Make the sauce. In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of gochujang sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.

Assemble the bibimbap. To assemble the bibimbap, start by putting a scoop of rice into a large bowl. Arrange the vegetables and protein on top of the rice in sections. Place the fried egg on top of the vegetables.Pour the sauce over the bibimbap's top.
